SKILLS ASSESSMENT
Objective
Skills assessment measures our performance in solving practical or specific situations and can allow an employer to compare this performance with the skills of others and with the skills necessary to correctly perform the required work
Reflective
From a practical point of view, the evaluation and subsequent promotion of our skills allows us to enhance that unique value that we have to offer to those who want to count on us, not only speaking in terms of work but also interpersonal.
Interpretative
Identifying our abilities is not an easy task, it is possible that one day we will be interested in a topic and a week later we will be interested in another activity. That is why putting our interests into practice will always be the best advice, if we manage to diversify and try to develop what we are passionate about, we will surely find what differentiates us from others.
A good strategy to put our interests into practice and discover our abilities would be the following according to (Mendoza, 2013):
● Identify what we like to do the most:
We probably enjoy doing more than one activity, but there will always be my favorite. Speaking in terms of work, we are likely to be able to successfully perform various tasks, but the question would be, which task do we consider to perform better than others?
● Make a list of the activities that I have developed.
By making a list of the activities that I have developed, we can also determine what abilities, skills and even creativity that we involve in their development.
● Personality.
Our way of acting, thinking and even feeling directly influences the result of the activities we carry out, so before starting a new task we must compare that task with our personality to determine if we can fulfill it satisfactorily.
Decisional
Since skill is the aptitude, talent or ability that a person has to carry out a certain activity, discovering and enhancing said skills is the first step to knowing what we like or what we do not find difficult to do, identifying these qualities. both intellectual, interpersonal, organizational, operational and linguistic.
